Fed Up Of Always Feeling Bloated?

Fed up of feeling bloated all the time? This is something i hear all the time from my clients and is something i use to suffer with myself.

Often it can be down to having carbs, especially fiber, which can cause you to hold 3-5g of water per gram. For example if you have 250g of carbs, you could potentially hold up to 1kg of water….NOT FAT…water.

The first thing to improve your bloating is to drink more water. Most of us are dehydrated, which will have a big impact on energy, performance, wellbeing and digestion.

What if that’s not the case and your issue is more complex?

You might be thinking a food intolerance test is the next step, but in reality it’s a waste of time as the majority are inaccurate.

So what’s next? Do your own test, no one knows your body better than you. Slowly take way foods that you think maybe causing the problem, then slowly introduce them back into your diet and see how you stomach reacts.

A good starting point would be to cut out wheat and dairy as they are often the culprits.

I recommend investing in a good quality probiotic which will help to improve gut health and digestion. Absorption of food and gut health is so important but is often overlooked.

I suggest following the steps below to help with bloating

👉🏼Keep a diary of your food & how you feel after it
👉🏼Narrow it down, if you bloat after having spaghetti bolognese with Parmesan on it next time have it without it to see if you are any different. If not then try have gluten free pasta to see if that works
👉🏼Try cutting them out / looking for alternatives to eat e.g if its dairy instead of cows milk try oat milk /almond milk
👉🏼Start taking probiotics, look after your gut with plenty of good bacteria
👉🏼Increase water intake. Start off with a minimum of 2 Litres and build it up over time.

It’s not always about how you look, but how you feel.

If you’re struggling with bloating, feel free to send me a message and i will point you in the right direction give 🙂
